Dr. Adcock was very compassionate and understanding when we brought in our dog that had been hit. He sat down with us went over the scans, and what he recommends doing. The office staff was there to comfort us while we were upset on the unknown. They also called us a couple days later to check on our dog which I thought was so sweet of them.

FOOTHILLS is the place to go! My mini schnauzer was hit by car, a sight no one wishes to see. Was transferred to Dr Adcock. Was in surgery 5 hrs to repair broken pelvis. They cared for him like he was thier baby. Sent pictures because we couldn't go everyday.  Dr Adcock called us with daily reports. Greatest group of people I have been in contact with. Love, love these people! They go the extra mile.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are regenerative therapies and how can it benefit my pet?

Common therapies include Platelet Rich Plasma injections, Stem Cell injections and LASER therapy.

Platelet Rich Plasma is used to treat various orthopedic conditions such as ligaments injuries and osteoarthritis.  It can be an effective treatment solution for managing pain and improving your pet's mobility.  Treatments are minimally invasive, utilizing light sedation and quickly performed.

Stem cells help to repair & regenerate damaged or diseased tissues caused by advanced osteoarthritis, tendon or ligament injuries. Treatments are moderately invasive, utilizing general anesthesia & can be completed in a few hours.

Laser therapy treats a wide variety of conditions including post-surgical inflammation, acute & chronic disease states. Treatments

are non-invasive, pain, drug & surgery free. Treatments can be administered in less than 15 minutes.

Benefits of crate training/proper crate use, leash walking and orthopedic beds

After surgery, the patients body is working overtime to repair tissues, reduce inflammation, and rebuild strength. Proper exercise restriction is crucial to allowing your pet to heal.  They must be confined to a crate or small area that prevents excessive movement and doesn't allow for improper movement.  Walking with a short (less than 6 feet) leash will encourage proper movement and start the process of rebuilding muscle.  When not engaging in rehab exercises or going to the bathroom the pet needs to be resting.    During deep sleep cycles tissue regeneration accelerates, inflammation reduces, the immune system strengthens, and pain sensitivity decreases. That means quality sleep isn’t just a comfort, it’s a critical part of the healing process. Just like you wouldn’t want to sleep on a hard surface after an operation, your dog needs a bed that provides proper joint support and reduces pressure points.

How can I prepare for surgery? and Rehab benefits

Preparing your pet for surgery involves a thorough consultation.  We have spent countless hours putting together handouts to help you prepare and aid for success in your pets recovery.  AVOS also provides organized rehabilitation services and packages.  Studies show that pets recover 3 weeks quicker under the care of a rehab therapist.   Discussing the process with your pets team will help you understand what to expect and how AVOS can help your pet return to normal life as soon as possible.
